NEIL Harris is still hopeful Fred Onyedinma will sign a new deal with Millwall.
Onyedinma’s contract expires at the end of June and as he is under 24 years old Millwall would be entitled to compensation for him set by a tribunal.
Onyedinma said after the League One play-off final win over Bradford in May that he had made his mind up on his future.
But circumstances seemed to change and the club confirmed that they had re-entered talks with his representatives.
However, there is still no definitive indication as to what Onyedinma’s current thoughts on his future are.
Harris said: “He wants to stay with Millwall and get the chance to play Championship football.
“Like any player out of contract, he is entitled to talk to other clubs. The added complication is there would be a substantial fee involved for Fred.
“Things have gone a little bit quiet recently.
“But we’re still hopeful with Fred.”
