Millwall complete signing of striker Tom Elliott

MILLWALL have completed the signing of Tom Elliott from AFC Wimbledon.

The 26-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal after completing a medical.

The striker scored 13 goals in 46 appearance for The Dons in all competitors last season, including one in the 2-2 draw with his new side on January 2.

Lions boss Neil Harris was looking to strengthen his attacking options ahead of a return to the Championship to ease the pressure on target man Steve Morison.

With the capture of the six-foot-four forward, Harris has achieved his objective.

And after finalising his move, Elliott told the club’s official site: "I'm buzzing! Since I met the manager, I've been excited to get going. I'm raring to go and I can't wait to start the season.

"The Championship is a step up – it's a bigger level – but I'm looking forward to testing myself.

"I spoke to Paul Robinson before signing on and he gave me a bigger picture of the club and some tips.

"The manager also showed his passion and his plans for the club when we spoke.

"That's why I'm here now – I'm so excited. I want to be a part of this club and I'm sure I can learn a lot from Neil, as a former striker himself."

Boss Harris added: "Tom's a player I've admired for some time now. We've had local allegiances with Wimbledon, so I've been able to watch him a few times.

"I'm really pleased to bring him in. He's a target man who has progressed really well under Neal Ardley over the last two years and has developed into a physical player with a good goalscoring record.

"Tom comes in and adds fight to the front line. We're putting a squad together that's giving us competition for places. It's a good day for the football club."
