Millwall haven't made approach for defender

LINCOLN City said they haven’t been contacted by Millwall about their highly rated centre-back Sean Raggett.

A report in the Sun earlier this week claimed the Lions were preparing a move for the 24-yearold defender.

Raggett caught the eye during Lincoln’s run to the last eight of the FA Cup, scoring a sensational 89th-minute winner to knock Burnley out in the fifth round.

Lincoln managing director Kevin Cooke was asked about the speculation yesterday and told Lincolnshire Live: "I've not heard anything about that, apart from rumours I've seen on social media.

"I don't know how these things start but I'm not aware of any approach for Sean Raggett."

Raggett came through the youth system at Gillingham and joined the Imps from Dover last summer. He has scored seven goals in 45 games this season to help Lincoln to the verge of promotion to League Two.

Millwall boss Neil Harris and Lincoln manager Danny Cowley are friends and have done business before.

Cowley was manager of Braintree Town last season when he took Tom King on loan as they reached the National League play-off semi-finals.

Don't see how we can be linked with anyone at all until we know what division we're in next season. We've got players on loan who are waiting on that and I don't see the need for 4 centre halves. 4 centre forwards yes.

I doubt there will be any genuine links to any player unless they are on a free

@SE17 Lion: Byron Webster signed an extension to his contract earlier this season. If Hutchinson stays injury prone we might well need another centre half to replace Cooper after he returns to Reading.

Nor are we trying to sign John Stones nor John Terry. Maybe Rhino. Cahill - Tim?
