No Millwall contract news until end of season

NEIL Harris is not expecting any news on new contracts until after the season finishes.

First-team squad regulars Fred Onyedinma and Shaun Williams have been offered new deals with their contracts set to run out this summer.

Onyedinma is under 24 so if he leaves the club will receive a fee set by a tribunal. Williams may wait to see which division Millwall will be playing in next season before deciding where he sees his future.

Williams will be 31 in October and could see this summer as a last chance to secure a move back to the Championship if Millwall are facing a third consecutive season in League One.

Shaun Cummings is also remaining tight-lipped about any potential new deal, with his current one expiring in June.

Meanwhile, Joe Martin’s return to the first team at Gillingham last week doesn’t change his situation. Martin may feature over the Easter weekend with doubts over the involvement of Tony Craig and Shane Ferguson, but there have been no discussions over his future.

“There’s no thought process now until the end of the season,” Harris said. “We just sort of sit tight with everyone now with a couple of weeks to go.

“With Joe, I thought for a fellow that hasn’t played much football other than with the U23s he came in after three-and-a-half months and showed his qualities as a player and a man.

“That’s why he’s so well respected within the dressing room.”
