Millwall loan watch: Forde gets better of Lions team-mate

DAVID Forde and Sid Nelson were in opposition at the weekend in League Two – and it was Forde who claimed the bragging rights as Portsmouth strengthened their automatic promotion chances.

Nelson was on the bench for Newport as goals from Kyle Bennett and Kai Naismith helped Pompey to a 2-1 win that leaves them four points behind second-placed Plymouth and six points ahead of Stevenage in fourth.

In League One at the weekend, Gregg Wylde came on as a 62nd-minute substitute but couldn’t help break the deadlock as Northampton drew 0-0 at home to Oxford.

Christian Mbulu started, Kris Twardek came on with nine minutes left and Kyron Farrell was on the bench as Braintree lost 1-0 at Tranmere in the National League.

In National League South on Saturday, Alfie Pavey came on in the 65th minute as Dartford lost 1-0 at St Albans City. Dartford are still 10 points clear of sixth-placed Hungerford Town as they look to seal a play-off place.
