Millwall's Cooper unsure of long-term future

JAKE Cooper says he is “loving every moment” at Millwall – but refuses to speculate on where he will be playing next season.

Cooper is on loan from Reading until the end of the season and has another year to run on his contract with the Championship club.

Cooper featured 30 times for Reading in 2015-16 but appeared just seven times under Jaap Stam before joining the Lions.

His form since his debut at Bradford has been outstanding, with Millwall conceding just two goals in the ten games he has played.

Those performances will have caught the eye of a number of clubs and it also remains to be seen if the division Millwall are in next season will influence his decision.

Cooper, though, is determined to concentrate on his form on the pitch in the remaining two months of this campaign.

“I’m not too sure, to be honest,” he said. “I’ve got another year on my contract at Reading. I’m just hoping to do really well here for the rest of the season and see where that takes me going into next season.

“It’s difficult for me to say too much before then.

“I want to get promoted with this club, I want to do well in the cup with this club and see where that takes me from a personal point of view.

“At the moment I’m loving every moment at this club, it’s a good time for me.”
