Harris on if Millwall are favourites to beat Leicester

NEIL Harris insisted Millwall are “definitely not” favourites to beat Leicester City in the last 16 of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri suggested in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that his side would be the “underdogs” given Millwall have already knocked AFC Bournemouth and Watford out of the competition.

Leicester haven’t won in the league this year, while Millwall haven’t lost in 12 games in all competitions.

Asked if he thought Millwall could be considered to have an edge, Harris said, “No. Definitely not.”

He added: “I wouldn’t be brave enough to even consider that. Leicester, whatever 11 they put out, should come and win at a League One club. Nine times out of 10 they do.

“But that’s why the FA Cup is such a fantastic competition, because you do get that one time out of 10 when it doesn’t quite happen like that.

“We’re fully aware of the squad and the challenge we face, but we’re certainly going to enjoy it and try to make it as uncomfortable as we possibly can for Leicester City.”

Ranieri said he would make 10 changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Swansea in their last game.

Harris was asked whether he would prefer to face a stronger starting XI and said: “Yes and no. Yes because you want to pit yourself against the best players in the game. But no because they can be very dangerous.

“We’re not fussed who we play against on Saturday. We’re under no illusions about the challenge.

“But we’re really excited by it.

“It’s the Premier League champions and Claudio doesn’t put a squad of 20 or 25 players together thinking that ‘those six aren’t quite good enough to beat League One Millwall’.”
