Leicester City slump surprises Millwall boss

MILLWALL manager Neil Harris admits he didn’t expect Leicester City to be struggling near the bottom of the Premier League table this season.

Harris will be plotting to cause an upset against a Premier League side for the third successive round of the FA Cup when the Lions and Foxes meet at The Den in the last 16 of the competition on February 18.

Leicester secured their place in the fifth round as extra-time goals from Wilfred Ndidi and Demarai Gray on Wednesday night gave them a 3-1 replay win over Derby County after Andy King’s strike in the second half of normal time was cancelled out by Abdoul Camara.

Leicester sensationally won the title last year but are currently just a point above the relegation zone and in real danger of becoming the first top-flight champions to be relegated the next season since Manchester City in 1969.

Millwall have already knocked two Premier League sides out of the FA Cup without conceding a goal.

AFC Bournemouth and Watford both rested a number of players for those ties, and Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri is likely to do the same with the fixture coming just four days before the first leg of their second-round Champions League clash with Sevilla.

“I think Leicester have surprised everybody,” Harris said. “It’s probably as much a surprise this year as it was last year for different reasons.

“I don’t think anyone saw them winning the league again this year, and challenging for the top four was a big ask, but I certainly didn’t expect to see them near the foot of the table. Especially when they were a side that was so successful and confident.

“They’re still the Premier League defending champions, they’re not at the same level but they have lots of quality, world-class players and top internationals.

“It’ll be another great test and another great occasion at The Den.”

Excellent blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers? I'm hoping to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Kudos!
