Millwall loan watch: Wylde off the mark

GREGG Wylde finally got off the mark this season with a goal for Northampton against MK Dons at the weekend.

Wylde has endured a difficult season so far and joined the Cobblers on loan for the rest of the season in the first week of the January transfer window.

Less than a minute after coming on, Wylde scored the first goal in the reign of new Northampton boss Justin Edinburgh, but they were already 3-0 down against the Dons in a game that finished 5-3 to Robbie Neilson's side.

In League Two on Saturday, Paris Cowan-Hall played 66 minutes of Wycombe's 1-1 draw at home to Luton that extends the Chairboys unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions.

Also in the fourth tier, Sid Nelson was in a Newport defence that claimed a first clean sheet in nine games as they survived an onslaught from Barnet but escaped with a scoreless draw.

Kris Twardek played his third game for Braintree as they held second-placed Forest Green to a 1-1 draw at The New Lawn. Kyron Farrell was on the bench for the Iron.

Also in the National League, Paul Rooney played out of position at right-back and couldn't help Torquay avoid a 2-1 defeat at Maidstone United.

Meanwhile, Alfie Pavey was denied a debut for Hampton & Richmond Borough in the National League South after their game with Gosport Borough was postponed due to the weather.

David Forde's Portsmouth also saw their fixture at Crawley called off.
