NEIL Harris hailed Millwall’s new-look back four after his side’s 2-0 win over Swindon on Boxing Day.
The Lions boss has been able to pick from a fit squad for the last two games, and his side has found some defensive consistency in wins over the Robins and Charlton last week.
The clean sheet against Swindon was their first in seven games in all competitions and a fourth in League One this season.
Millwall have also kept two clean sheets in the three games Shaun Hutchinson and Byron Webster have started together in the centre of defence.
Harris also praised Tony Craig, with the captain looking invigorated since his switch to left-back.
“I didn’t have a set (centre-back) partnership. Until you’ve played people together you never know,” Harris said.
“What I will say is Tony Craig looks completely comfortable at left-back with and without the ball.
“The centre-halves looks like a good pairing and Shaun Cummings has brought some experience and some calmness to the backline.
“I’d used Mahlon Romeo time and time again without giving him a break.
“I’m delighted with the boys for getting a clean sheet. I’ve said publicly we’ve conceded too many goals and not kept enough clean sheets so, to do that, I was pleased for my players.”
