Millwall's Moro making plans for coaching career

STEVE Morison is making plans to move into coaching when his playing career ends.

Millwall's vice-captain is currently taking his coaching badges – alongside the likes of former West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan and Swansea's Leon Britton.

The 33-year-old centre-forward is contracted to Millwall until 2018 and has no intention of looking towards retirement yet.

"It's a few years away, hopefully," Morison said. "I'm in the process of finishing my A licence. There's a Pro licence as well but from a coaching point of view the A licence is the last one.

"It's something I'd like to have in my bag and not have to worry about it once I finish. I've plenty of playing time left as well.

"There are plenty of boys all at that end of their careers and looking to the next step.

"It gives you something to do in your spare time after you finish in the afternoon. If you're in football as well some of it comes quite easy and some of it is quite new."

And once he has completed his qualifications and his playing career is over, he isn't ruling out going abroad to gain experience.

"You want to be here, you want to be close to home," he said. "But I don't think you can be too picky sometimes, you've got to be open to everything."
