YOUNG Millwall striker Conor Wilkinson has been called up to the Ireland U19 squad for a friendly against Latvia on Saturday.
Wilkinson, who scored for the first team in a pre-season friendly against Glenavon earlier this year, has netted twice for the Lions' U21 side already this season.
The 17-year-old struck a brace in the 3-0 win over Brentford's development squad on the opening day of the youth season and has been rewarded with an international call.
The friendly in Riga will serve as preparation for Ireland's forthcoming UEFA U19 Championship qualifiers against Germany and Macedonia in October.
Wilkinson was due to link up with the squad this morning and so will miss Millwall's third U21 fixture of the season against Barnet at The Den tomorrow afternoon.
