Scunthorpe captain: Millwall won't be easy

MILLWALL will face a Scunthorpe side determined to make up for last weekend’s defeat to Rochdale when they meet at Glanford Park on Saturday.

The Iron’s 3-2 loss at Spotland was just their third league defeat of the season and only their fifth in 41 League One games since Mark Robins was sacked in January.

They haven’t lost at home in the league in almost a year, and drew with Millwall in the fourth game of last season before winning 2-0 at The Den in February.

But captain Stephen Dawson (above, against Mahlon Romeo) warned of the challenge they face from Millwall this weekend as they aim to stay clear at the top of the table.

"It is not going to be an easy next couple of months but I have faith in the whole team," Dawson told Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"Anytime we have lost before I feel we have come back stronger for it.

"We have got to perform a lot better and we will do because I believe in the team. I said from the start of the season that this is a special group of players.

"A massive response is needed because we need to get back to winning ways straightaway.

"We have done that (after) the last two games (they've lost) but we know it is not going to be easy against Millwall.

"It is not going to be easy as we know what they bring as a team and individuals.

"We need to get back to basics, get back to doing the horrible side and with our fans behind us I believe we can get a positive result."
