Millwall's Williams a centre-back option against Iron

SHAUN Williams could be pressed into action as a centre-back at league leaders Scunthorpe this weekend.

Millwall are likely to be without Shaun Hutchinson for the clash with the most prolific side in League One, while Byron Webster is definitely out.

Williams regularly played in the centre of defence for MK Dons, and moved back to partner Tony Craig against Shrewsbury last weekend after Sid Nelson had been substituted.

Millwall haven't kept a clean sheet away from home in the league since a scoreless draw at Colchester last April, and manager Neil Harris could decide he needs the experience of Williams to combat rampant Scunthorpe.

"Willo had a couple of seasons playing there for MK Dons," Harris said. "His composure and his quality and football ability in the middle of the park is key for us. His experience in there is vital as well.

"But he is an option to play at centre-half. I put him back there when Sid had to come off after cramping up at the end of the Shrewsbury game. Shaun did really well and gave us another dimension with his quality on the ball.

"That's certainly a consideration for me looking ahead to this weekend."
