Millwall's Smith reveals who he wants in FA Cup

HARRY Smith is hoping one name in particular is plucked from the bowl in the draw for the third round of the FA Cup.

Smith scored a hat-trick on his debut in the competition for Millwall in the 5-2 win over Braintree in the second round on Sunday.

Millwall will learn their fate in the next round when the draw takes place on BBC2 at 7pm on Monday night.

“I will probably tune in from home to watch the draw, fingers crossed for a good tie,” Smith said.

“For a club in League One you want one of the big teams, so any Premier League team, especially the big six or seven, you think anyone like that.

“West Ham would be nice…but away to Manchester United, someone like that would be the dream.

“I think Old Trafford is a massive ground and it’s a massive club. If I could personally pick a team, it would be away to them, but we will take anyone."

Meanwhile, Millwall boss Neil Harris explained why he wants to avoid drawing another League One club.

He said: "As a club we like this competition. I love it, I played in it as a non-league player, I played in the final, it’s the best competition the world. At club level it’s an outstanding competition and to be in the third-round draw is one of the most exciting days in the football calendar.

“It’s important that when you win games you carry momentum and little things like the draw carry momentum for us.

“I’m not fussed, the draw will pit us against who it pits us against. The only thing clubs at all levels don’t like is playing against clubs in your own division because you do that often enough as it is.

“A home or away game against someone in a different division would be something to look forward to.”
