DAVID Forde was beaten by his former Millwall team-mate John Marquis as Doncaster Rovers won 2-1 at Portsmouth on Saturday.
Marquis, who was released by Millwall in the summer, raced onto a long ball and rounded Forde to score in the seventh minute to put Darren Ferguson’s side ahead before Andy Williams made it 2-0 10 minutes before half-time.
Carl Baker pulled a goal back for Pompey, but they couldn’t rescue a result and drop to sixth place in League Two. Doncaster, who were relegated last season, are up to second.
Paris Cowan-Hall played 80 minutes as Adebayo Akinfenwa’s 85th-minute goal gave Wycombe a 1-0 win over Exeter at the weekend. Wycombe have won three of the four games in which Cowan-Hall has featured this season and are 15th in League Two.
