SHEFFIELD United boss Chris Wilder has confirmed he spoke to Neil Harris to enquire about signing Byron Webster.
Reports surfaced on Tuesday that the Blades had made a bid for Webster, but Wilder says his club’s interest didn’t go beyond asking if the defender was available for transfer.
Wilder was told he wasn’t for sale and confirmed Sheffield United have ended their interest in the player.
“Yeah we made an enquiry,” Wilder told the BBC on Thursday. “I had a phone call with Neil and the club had a phone call at senior level and he wasn’t available at any price and so we move on from that.”
Webster recently signed a new two-year deal that will keep him at Millwall until the summer of 2018.
