THERE will be a few interesting sub-plots at Stadium MK on Saturday as Millwall travel to MK Dons with both sides looking to make it three wins from three this season.
If Neil Harris picks him, then Joe Martin could come up against his brother David, who is the Dons’ first-choice goalkeeper.
Shaun Williams will play against the club he spent almost three years with before joining Millwall in January 2014.
There will also be a reunion for midfielder Ed Upson, who joined MK Dons after Millwall released him in the summer.
Upson is looking forward to coming up against one of his former clubs for the first time in his career.
“I’ve never had to do it yet,” Upson told MK Citizen this week. “At Millwall, we never played Yeovil so it’ll be a new experience for me. I still speak to a lot of the lads, so it’ll be a good game.
“I’ve got fond memories of everywhere I’ve been. There were ups and down, as there is at any club. But I’m at MK Dons now, and it’s a game I’ll be looking to win.”
Shaun Hutchinson is again a doubt for Millwall, but Byron Webster and Tony Craig have been impressive in the first two fixtures and are the first-choice central defensive pairing.
The managers took different approaches to the League Cup on Tuesday night.
Millwall boss Neil Harris made five changes to his side before they defeated Barnet 4-0, but he could revert to the starting XI that defeated Oldham 3-0 last weekend. Martin, though, is challenging Shane Ferguson for a place at left-back after starting at The Hive Stadium.
If Martin starts then Harris has to choose between Ferguson and Aiden O’Brien, who has scored two goals in two game this season, for a place on the left side of midfield.
Lee Gregory took a full part in Tuesday's pre-match warm-up before taking his place on the bench, and he should resume his partnership up front with Steve Morison.
Dons boss Karl Robinson made 11 changes before MK Dons came from two goals down to beat Newport.
On Thursday, MK Dons announced they had broken their transfer record to sign striker Kieran Agard from Bristol City and he could go straight into the starting XI this weekend.
