MILLWALL opened their season up with a 3-0 victory over Oldham Athletic last Saturday. This weekend, they travel to MK Dons for their first away game in the league. NewsAtDen spoke to Tracy Stronge to get the inside track on the Dons…
Name: Tracy Stronge
What made you become an MK Dons supporter?: Growing up, my local team was Folkestone Invicta (mainly because my Dad was the youth team coach), so I never had a team that I would go and see week-in, week-out. I moved to Milton Keynes and when Wimbledon made the move I went to the first game at The Hockey Stadium. I have been going ever since.
After relegation last season, what is the aim in 2016-17? Is it to bounce straight back to the Championship?: The club seem to think it is, but I personally would be happy if we managed to just re-group. Early transfer activity was not good and I worry that currently our squad is a little bit threadbare.
MK signed Ed Upson after his release by Millwall in the summer – how has he been getting on?: First impressions are that he is a good acquisition. He has made quite a good impact in his first game and hopefully this will continue.
How do you see the Lions faring this season, after narrowly missing out on replacing yourselves in the second tier last year?: You have had a good start, but this league is probably one of the most unpredictable. Saying that, I do reckon you may be up there come the end of the season.
Which players will Millwall have to watch out for on Saturday? Likewise, who do you think the Dons will have to be wary of?: If he turns up, then Daniel Powell can give any team a hard time. He can make something of nothing and not even realise he has done it!
With regards to Millwall players, I would probably say Shaun Williams – being an ex-Don, we know what he can do. Also Lee Gregory – in the past I have been impressed with his game.
Finally, a score prediction?: It's a tough one, but I will go for MK Dons 1-2 Millwall. I think you will just nick it – but I am usually wrong!
