NEW Millwall signings David Worrall, Shaun Hutchinson and Gregg Wylde all have points to prove, according to Neil Harris.
The manager spoke of their "desire" to join the Lions and his pleasure at getting all three deals done before pre-season training begins on Friday.
"They were pretty much first choice targets," Harris said. "You don't always have one outstanding target, but you have names where you think, 'yeah, I might get him.'
"All three players were top targets and I'm absolutely delighted to get them all in the building.
"They all have a point to prove one way or another. They are all are of good ages – and the biggest thing for me is that all three showed a real desire to come and play for the football club."
Due to Millwall's involvement in the League One play-offs, the squad and management only received five weeks off instead of the usual eight, but Harris expressed his delight at having everything ready for day one of pre-season training on July 1.
"The plan all along was to get the boys in, get the targets in, get it all done and have everyone in the building at the start of pre-season. I'm really pleased about that.
"It gives me the opportunity to assess the players for as long as possible. It also gives me an opportunity to work out whether I need anybody else over the course of pre-season and the start of the season.
"I'm delighted to get the squad together and have it completed for day one.
"It's important the squad work hard together. It's important that they do every session together and they build on spirit and it's important that they feel good enough to get them through the season."
