CLOCKING in at a mere 259 miles from The Den, Fleetwood Town provides Millwall with one of their longest away journeys of the 2016-17 campaign.

Last season saw the trip take place on a Tuesday night in November – and it was all in vain, as the Lions went down 2-1, despite Byron Webster's injury-time consolation.

The home game was a different matter, as Steve Morison's sublime lob handed Neil Harris' side all three points, but they were made to work for them.

Jordan Archer was on top form, pulling off a string of fine saves as the Cod Army mounted attack after attack in their search for a point.

After a 10th placed finish in their first season in League One in 2014-15, the last campaign saw Fleetwood flirt with relegation for long periods. However, they ended the campaign in 19th position, ensuring a third straight season of third tier football.

Some may say that the Cod Army are punching above their weight, but Lions fans especially will know that they are not to be underestimated.

In Steven Pressley, they have a manager that knows his way around, whilst in Ashley Nadesan – a name well-known to Millwall – they have an unknown quantity, which can be a most dangerous aspect.

Along with the Lions, Fleetwood also made the Area Final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season, however, Barnsley and Oxford United ensured neither would grace the Wembley turf in the final.
