Millwall sign winger David Worrall from Southend

MILLWALL have signed David Worrall on a free transfer from Southend United on a two-year-deal.

The winger, who's contract expires at the end of the month will officially join up with Neil Harris' men from July 1, for pre-season training ahead of the new season.

Harris admitted he was looking to sign "one or two" wingers this summer and one of those spots has been securing with the signing of the 26-year-old.

Worrall made 40 appearances for the Shrimpers last season scoring three goals and assisting another three.

In total the winger played 84 games, scoring nine times during his spell at Roots Hall.

After confirming the deal, Millwall manager Neil Harris told the club's official site:"David carries the ball up the pitch well and has good delivery.

"He adds something different to the team; the type of thing we saw a lot last season when we had Jed [Wallace] on loan.

"David has good experience of this division and played extremely well when I watched him last year.

"He comes with really good references on his character from people I know well.

"He has played right-wing for most of his career but has also played as an attacking option at right-back and a lot on the left-hand side.

"We're delighted to get him as there was a lot of competition for his signature."
