MILLWALL have confirmed they have released a number of players as planning begins for next season following failure to win promotion to the Championship.
Lions boss Neil Harris held meetings with players on Monday after Millwall’s 3-1 defeat to Barnsley in the League One play-off final at Wembley on Sunday.
Those leaving the club are Carlos Edwards, Ed Upson, Lee Martin, John Marquis, Jack Powell, Chris Parr and Keaton Wood.
Edwards, 37, could continue playing elsewhere, and Harris would also consider him for a coaching position at the club after his career on the pitch ends.
Powell, Martin and Marquis all spent time out on loan this season and their contracts expire this summer, as does Upson's.
Parr and Wood were important players for Justin Skinner’s U21 side this season but they are not being retained.
Meanwhile, Byron Webster and Joe Martin have activated clauses in their contracts that tie them to the Lions for another season.
