TRIALIST Ashley Nadesan was on the scoresheet as Millwall’s U21s defeated Barnsley 4-2 at The Den on Monday afternoon.
Nadesan, who has been on trial with the Lions for the last week, started up front with Jamie Philpot and scored the fourth goal against the Tykes five minutes from time from Fred Onyedinma’s cross.
Twenty-one-year-old Nadesan has attracted the attention of a number of clubs, such as Norwich City and Crystal Palace, after his goal-scoring exploits with Horley Town, who play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division, the ninth tier of the English football league system.
He has scored 90 goals in the last two seasons for his current club.
Justin Skinner’s Elite Development Squad came from a goal down to beat Barnsley, with Tony Craig, Carlos Edwards and Onyedinma also on target before Nadesan sealed the win.
Millwall starting XI: Girling; Edwards, Nelson, Mbulu, Craig; Onyedinma, Upson, Farrell, Twardek; Philpot, Nadesan.
