Peterborough boss wary of another Millwall "thumping"

DARREN Ferguson has revealed Millwall were "one of the most impressive" teams to beat Peterborough last season ahead of their return to London Road on Tuesday evening.

Ferguson saw his side beaten 3-0 by the Lions on their last visit to Cambridgeshire and is determined to avoid another "thumping."

Posh kicked-off the new campaign with a 2-0 defeat at Leicester on Saturday and Ferguson is keen for his players to make amends and chalk up their first win.

"Millwall have got an experienced front two in Darius Henderson and Andy Keogh," he told his club's official site.

"They are a handful and they’ve got wide players who want to get the ball in the box.

"What you see is what you get with Kenny Jackett’s team, [they're] hard working. It will be a really hard game. They were probably the most impressive team to come to London Road last season – one of them anyway.

"We've got to play to our strengths they'll look to play to theirs. We have got to stop them; we know their weaknesses and we need to make sure we exploit them.

"We are at home and we lost too many games here last season. We lost to Millwall and we got a right thumping that night, but I’m sure we will see a totally different performance."
