Millwall captain Robinson set to resume full training

MILLWALL captain Paul Robinson is hoping to resume full training on Monday after 10 weeks on the sidelines.

Robinson underwent a double hernia operation in June with a view to being fit to start the new season, but a niggling groin strain has delayed the centre-back's recovery.

Manager Kenny Jackett confirmed after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Blackpool that games at Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday this week will come too soon for the 30-year-old.

"I'm getting there but it's taking a lot longer than we all hoped," Robinson told Lions Live.

"The double hernia masked a couple of other problems which have forced us to take a step back.

"I've had a couple of injections in my adductor muscle now so hopefully I'm on the right path. I've been training on and off for the past few weeks but I'm looking from Monday to go full steam ahead and get involved fully."
