MILLWALL club captain Tony Craig is close to a return to full training and is on course to make his competitive comeback for the first team next month.
Craig has been continuing his rehabilitation after a serious knee injury in the gym and swimming pool and is now back doing running exercises at the club’s training ground on Calmont Road.
The 30-year-old defender, who has been out since the end of October, will see a specialist in two weeks when he could be given the go-ahead to re-join first-team training sessions.
“He’s doing really well,” his manager Neil Harris said. “If he gets the all clear on that day, which we presume he will, then he’ll be back in full training.
“He’ll have to build through training for a week or so before getting back into some football action. Ideally we’d be looking at towards the middle of April for him to be back in the squad.”
Craig has made 19 appearances this season, scoring once, since re-joining the club from Brentford in the summer.
