MILLWALL have confirmed the signing of Shane Ferguson from Newcastle United on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old Northern Ireland international has penned a contract with the Lions until the summer of 2017 after Millwall agreed a deal with the Magpies.
Ferguson has made 28 appearances for Millwall since moving on loan in August.
He started his career with Newcastle, making his professional debut under Chris Hughton in August 2010, before loan spells with Birmingham and Glasgow Rangers.
He made his first appearance for Millwall at Shrewsbury on the opening day of the season and scored his first goals for club in the 4-1 win over Colchester United on November 21.
The acquisition is a coup for Millwall and boss Neil Harris. Ferguson is an experienced international with 22 caps and is set to be in Northern Ireland’s squad for the European Championships in France next summer.
