THE trial of Millwall striker Darius Henderson has been put back by a further month, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed.

Henderson has been accused of causing grievous bodily harm without intent following an altercation at a Hertfordshire restaurant in the early hours of New Year's Day.

The 31-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge at a plea and case management hearing in June, where he was told the three-day hearing would begin the week commencing August 20.

But the trial, which will take place at St Albans Crown court, has now been put back to October 29 due to the unavailability of a witness.

The charge facing Henderson carries a maximum prison sentence of five years under Section 20 of the Offences against the Person Act.
