MILLWALL will move quickly to clarify Neil Harris' future after the club's relegation to League One was confirmed.
The Lions have been hugely impressed with Harris during his interim spell in charge and they are ready to hand him the reins on a permanent basis.
Harris' appointment could be confirmed before the weekend, when Millwall play Wolves on the final day of the season.
The Lions' fate was sealed by Rotherham's 2-1 win over Reading last night, a result which put the Millers out of reach on 45 points.
Speaking this morning, Harris said: "We're bitterly disappointed but the league table doesn’t lie.
"This has been the third season in a row which has been touch-and-go. We've not been able to stabilise or kick on.
"There's been a lot of hard work and effort but we've not picked up enough points. That's the reality and we have to accept that."
