MILLWALL signed highly-rated Hamburg left-back Lennard Sowah after a recommendation from the player's agent, NewsAtDen can reveal.
The 19-year-old, who has signed a loan deal with the Lions until the end of the season, has played in England before with both Arsenal and Portsmouth – but nobody from The Den has seen Sowah play since his move to Germany in 2010.
It is understood that World In Motion, one of the largest player agencies in the country, recommended Sowah, one of their clients, to boss Kenny Jackett, who was known to be scouring the transfer market for a new left-back.
Millwall have conducted several of their recent transfer dealings through World In Motion, who brokered Therry Racon's arrival in SE16 and represented Josh McQuoid during his move from Bournemouth, and the Lions agreed that the German U19 international would prove to be a low-risk signing.
It is for this reason that Jackett has described Sowah as being 'on trial', despite the fact he has signed on an international loan deal.
The Millwall boss told the club's official website: "We're taking Lennard on loan for the remainder of the season. He's not going to necessarily feature in the first team straight away, because we want to assess him for a week or two.
"If we think he's of a standard that can improve us, we will add him to our squad."
