@bobthelion: surely Gregory has being given enough chances.all year we needed a goalscorer and got everything but. Wigan will pass us out and we will finish 2nd bottom.

@bobthelion: so we have 11 games left to survive..... Is it possible ? The answer is yes with the players we have but no with the clown in charge. We need to keep a formation that fits the players strengths, we need to drop Dunne as captain and give it to a leader of men such as Williams.

So Chairman please sack the clown before Norwich as I don't fancy travelling to Rochdale and Bradford next season. Oh and drop Dunne as captain or at least stop him nightclubbing in Bibas Bromley after each home defeat.

Can see a 5 or 6 -1 trouncing tonight, hate to say it but it's true! Ollie needs to just admit he's list the dressing room and move on sooner rather than later. This is by far the worst season I can remember even worse than the Lomas era and I never thought I'd say that looooool

In all honesty and I don't like feeling this way, I can not see anything other than a resounding defeat tonight.
Saturday's result has dented what little faith I had left. Sorry.

@JonnyBanks: Jonny last time I was at Middlesburgh Shittu was immense at the back heading everything and Alan Dunne played out of his skin. We won against the odds and I hope we can defy all logic and win again tonight! Come on you lions it's blind faith but I've not stopped believing in miracles just yet. ⚽️

@JonnyBanks: Jonny could not agree more the result tonight although not unexpected is another nail in the coffin. Want to Believe it's still possible to get out of this mess but it looks less and less likely each week.
For the first time this season Holloway is sticking with the same side but unfortunately it's not a winning combination. Gregory needed to be played with a big man up front feeding him at the start of the season. His confidence and touch has gone to pot after a year of fits and starts under Olli's constant tinkering and the strikers he has brought don't offer much else. How the hell we get out of this mess is anyone's guess now with the same tactics the results won't change.

Lets hope we get a point tonight and both Rotherham and Brighton lose or it will be 9 points to make up if we don't win and the others do. Then we are down to 11 games to go to get us out of this position. Olly the Wally said 18 games was enough to get us out of the bottom 3, but with Norwich to come we are going to have to do it in 10 games I feel.

Hate to say it but what worries me more is who's going to want the job if ollie gets the boot?? I think the players need to start taking some responsibility for the results of late. I personally think ollie can do a job for us but needs more money and time. The team has been S*** for the last 4 season even under jacket. Get behind what's left of the Millwall i grew up lovin. Cum you lionnnnsssss!!

I was in an Exec box at Arsenal on sunday. Aside from the obvious difference in class, what stuck me was the fitness level. Arsenal chased down at the same intensity from the first to the last minute. And they shut the oppo down fast as lightning,in pairs.
The other big difference was the fans. They cheer literally everything. I was shocked that stray passes or god awful shots were not met with huge groans and the odd piercing "oh for fck sake!". The team were cheered.. and when the going got tough, it was 60,000 chanting "come on Arsenal - come on Arsenal" - and the players reacted and upped the tempo.
Then I think to what happened with our fans at the end of Rotherham game.
No wonder we struggle to get players to come here - and is probably why we wont see significant investment in our club. I dont know what JB gets out of it... are we just some sort of tax dodge for other businesses... I like JB but if you're not prepared to spend 20m, then what are you doing here?
Long odds on a Wall win tonight. COYL !
Not to be even more of a misery guts - but I predicted our results for our final games tonight. By my reckoning I think we'll get 7 more points. It hit me tonight that we're probably already down. Please prove me wrong. Please.
COYL. (And I'm sticking 20 quid down on a win tonight. Long odds but we can still do it!! COYL)

How much are the bookies offering for next goal scored by Borough? Or have they already closed the option?

Fred's scored again. Another master stroke by the clueless one! Almost up there with Dunne at captain and centre back. In some ways I hope we do get tonked as he might feel obliged to walk. Only then can we start to rebuild our club.

Fred has just scored again for Wycombe....This is painful having a player on loan who scored 5 in 4 games and we have scored 5 in 8 games throughout the whole team!

we have missed a goalscorer for at least 2 seasons, we ALL know it, and that is the difference, we can find a wage for a 'head of recruitment', but not for a striker who could have kept us in this division!

Nothing personal but that's the most irritating comment I've read since the last time our bald, bandy addled wee dwarf of a so-called manager opened his gob.

@The Humble One: 'Played twice didn't look ready', maybe he improves for the third game, a bit more for the fourth etc. etc., maybe by now he looks at home in the Championship. We'll never know as whilst we need all hands to the pump to avoid relegation he's off almost single-handed driving Wycombe to promotion.

    Good boy Fred.
He shouldn't be here it would destroy him if he was. Club and ollie have done the right thing with him.
Please let's not put all hopes on his young shoulders next season he won't be good every game we need him to enjoy his football when he returns.
He'll be more than ready for league 1.

@lukesmithmfc: we've certainly got to be supportive and not moan and groan if he misses a few chances.

Hopefully league 1 will also prove easier for Gregory and together they can form a decent partnership and develop their games.

2 seasons in league 1 and we might have a couple of prolific strikers in them who can do a job in the Championship. We can but hope.

@rowanonthewing7: not as far as I know. I think he'll have 1 yr left at season end. But to disrupt his game now with contract offers will be unprofessional. We need to leave the boy alone until his return then we can start negotiating. He's far to young to ballance all the s*** behind the scenes at the minute. I'm sure he's fully aware of the club's intentions. I wouldn't be surprised if there's 2 offers already in place for him depending on which division we're in.
We'll just have to wait and see.

If there's anybody left who does like it then they have some serious issues when it comes to critical judgement,

Anyway be that as it may had we all followed that sage advice over the 50 years I've been pitching up the club would have gone bust long ago because supporting Millwall has pretty much always involved putting up with rubbish Managers or Boards and not infrequently both.

True enough. We treasure the occasional brief moments of triumph and even more infrequent consistently good teams whilst watching with interest the further careers of players we always knew in our hearts were too good to stay. I would blame my late dad for bringing me down here but since the alternatives were the Trainspotters and the Nigels I can only be grateful instead.

@ Aldo Disagree regarding Fred not looking ready. Looked a good player and I thought he had broken into the 1st team.

If he's not ready then majority of the team isn't either as he was better than most!

Average age of the starting XI is 31! So much for lowering that then Ollie.

I just cannot believe anything that comes out of that mans mouth. However good it sounds or I wish it to be true it's all b******* and lies.

Before the whistle goes I want to mention that Holloway looks vey ill to me. I recall onvtv when he quit Palace he said " I just can't do it...." That was for football reasons and yes. you could argue the same applies now.
Maybe, he'll reconsider his position prior to the game on Saturday and resign due to ' ill health'. Actually, thinking about it, I really think he will.

@NICKOLA: I said the same thing the bloke looks like death warmed up, I really do believe that he needs to be removed not just for footballing reasons but certainly for health reasons, I'm more worried about reading how he's died then us losing another game, apart from his managerial career with us I've always liked the bloke and don't wish him harm but I do wish he'd now leave, to be a task for a man that ill.

I think he was given one last game here with no expectation - even a anew manager taking over would have lost most probably so IH was given once last shot at a miracle - but he couldn't do it - he must go now or else suffer awful abuse when we go behind to Norwich

the only hope is 5 wins which strangely might be possible without a manager - just tell the players to go out and do their thing and we might see a freedom in play to pick up 4 home wins

    not likely but possible

JESUS CHRIST!!! SAME S**T EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!!! HOLLOWAY JUST GO!!!!!

Just ruined us completely. Can't see us doing a repeat of last year at all. Sad to see us go down like this, no confidence, bad management. Hopefully next season in League 1 brings a smile to our faces

We deserve to go down. B******* to all the standing tall and being positive people. We have cocked about and luckily stayed up for the last 3 seasons. Sooner or later you pay the piper and without a shadow of a doubt in my mind at least we should. We are reactive as a club with regards to structure and we constantly quote other clubs as business models when we should be making our own path. We traditionally sell our assets for next to nothing compared to clubs like Palace. Our record transfer is STILL Paul Goddard at £800,000 from the 1980's which in the scheme of football today is criminal. Bournemouth tried to sign a player for 5m, it's a joke and proves we are a walkman of a club in an MP3 age.

The club do not deserve the diehard fans they have when I think about it. F*** em all. If any one person on here can honestly claim to understand what the hierarchy of the clubs aim or ambition is or ever was is I would be very thankful.

Holloway: "This is the worst run I've been on and it feels hideous. I didn't like how Greggs missing that chance floored everyone." This is the measure of the man, and has been all season, although it may be true, gregory should not be our main striker where our hopes are pinned, but holloway will blame whoever he can to save his skin, he is a disgrace !

I don't think Gregory is poor - he has missed golden chances in each of the last 3 games , but he has got in the position in the first place - bad strikers don't do that - His confidence is totally low - he is trying too hard - to be a good striker you have to be relaxed - he would be the typical striker we sell and then gets 15 -20 goals next season - we need to persevere with him and two good wingers next year

@The Roar: Dont disagree, he missed a sitter saturday to put us 2 up, my anger is that if you look at holloways after match quotes, he is crafty and puts the blames on his players, 'he passed the ball in the wrong channel' etc, or their fitness, i.e gueye body mass index FFS was high, then played him in the next game. he is a bull##itter and a chancer!

IH must be one of the most clueless and demoralising managers in Millwall's history, how he is surviving is a mystery except the board are so inept they are putting him before the club. I refuse to believe that all the team can be so bad, it has to be down to Holloway, his tactics and lack of inspiration. Swap 'boroughs manger for him and I am willing to bet that the results for Millwall would improve and Borough's form drop down.
It seems the overwhelming majority of people on here who represent a fair cross section of opinion want him to go. Perhaps Aldo might relay this in the SN. Holloway must go he is making me depressed.

a plea to those who like to s*** players off - leave Gregory alone - we have him on contract next year and need him - we have had all this before

marquis, grabban, james henry, feeney - all quite capable of having solid pro careers but all want to get away from us - when do you learn

maybe but he got slagged off regularly when he played so don't pretend it didn't happen - this habit predates Holloway as with feeney , henry etc

well we might never find out if we s*** him off rather than be supportive - put it this way , the chances he missed are nothing to do with talent - 2 one on one last game and this one missed - you don't need great skill to push the ball past the keeper , you need composure which he ha shown in his career - he needs to learn to deal with the pressure , which players can do , but not with fans slagging him off

@timchimes: Capable but didn't do it. Ridiculous point. I agree that getting on Gregory's case is counter productive but ffs we can't be expected to suffer mediocrity in the hope it comes good with regards to your list. It's about what they do whilst with us when required NOT when they leave.

      That attitude = Relegation

My point is we don't give them a chance - we get on their backs too early and they suffer a drop in form - form which comes back when they leave us - you cant play under constant pressure - look at Torres at Chelsea - he is not a bad player but hardly scored at Chelsea (I think we would take him)

Sorry that came across all wrong. What I meant was if he dies do we pay up??

Look I think we are down and on the balance of things rightly so. KJ knew he took it as far as the board were willing to take it and that was mid table, stress free championship football. Turned out it was relegation battles again and again. Enough is enough let's face facts suffer it again. £800,000 record transfer says it all

Milwall boss Ian Holloway after tonight's game:
"It doesn't help when you're not popular with the fans, it puts extra pressure on people.
"I'm sure I'll be talking to the chairman over the next few days and we'll have to see where we are.
"I couldn't give it any more. I couldn't try any harder than I am at the minute and we just can't buy a goal.
"I would hope to continue but if other people don't then that's their decision. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't."
Doesn't he realise he was probably the most popular appointment ever with most? He is no longer popular because he has been an unmitigated disaster. Unfortunately, the last sentence doesn't sound like he will do the decent thing and resign. To stand any chance of survival he MUST now go. The repercussions of him staying will hurt this club, not just this season, but for seasons to come.

    latest from holloway, sound familiar?
Holloway said: "It doesn't help when you're not popular with the fans, it puts extra pressure on people.
"I'm sure I'll be talking to the chairman over the next few days and we'll have to see where we are.
"I couldn't give it any more. I couldn't try any harder than I am at the minute and we just can't buy a goal.
"I would hope to continue but if other people don't then that's their decision. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Tonight we came up against a good team who were lethal.

"We had a great chance and didn't take it. They get one and wallop, it's a clinical finish. That's the difference. It was a great goal from their point of view, but we're gutted.
"There's no bad team in the Championship but at the moment we're one of the worst because of the run we're on.
"You can see the lack of confidence once we missed the chance. Up until then it was good. I thought we did OK.
"We came up here to get on with this game and I felt it was a big opportunity for me to show the chairman I could motivate this group and give me a platform to build on.
"The team looked like they wanted to play and wanted to create for me, then we miss a chance and it's the same old story. That's the way things are."

You know what? Tonight, it doesn't even hurt anymore. I've reached that stage.
Our club is managed by a CEO that is inept. By a manager, who, if employed anywhere else, would have been sacked. It's time for a major change. Time for someone to grip the reins and lead us out of this misery.
    To quote Crazy Horse-
" STRONG HEARTS, BRAVE HEARTS TO THE FRONT. COWARDS TO THE REAR".

Continue to skip past my comments if that's how you feel, you can't please everybody all the time.
