MILLWALL kicked-off their pre-season tour of Ireland with a goalless draw against Shelbourne at Tolka Park.

Boss Kenny Jackett fielded different line-ups in each half to give all 23 of his players some match fitness in what was the Lions' first summer fixture.

Striker Andy Keogh, who was named as captain in the absence of injured skipper Paul Robinson and stand-in Liam Trotter, spurned the best opportunity of the first half, latching onto a wayward backpass but firing tamely at keeper Jeffrey Wijnen in the 23rd minute.

Debutants Scott Malone and Chris Taylor were combining to good effect down the left side and the latter had a long-range effort well saved in the 28th minute.

Winger James Henry limped off shortly before half-time with suspected knee ligament damage and is expected to miss the next two weeks of action.

Liam Feeney blasted over when well-placed early in the second period but it was John Marquis who came closest to breaking the deadlock, hitting the post with a last-minute free-kick.

Millwall (first half): Taylor, Smith, Ward, Lowry, Malone, Henry (O'Brien 37'), Abdou, Wright, Taylor, Batt, Keogh.

Millwall (second half): Forde, Dunne, Barron, Osborne, Goodman, Feeney, Wilkinson, Racon, Marquis, N'Guessan, Sammoutis.
