MIDFIELDER Liam Trotter has been ruled out of Millwall's pre-season tour of Ireland after straining a thigh muscle.

The Lions squad flew from Heathrow to the Emerald Isle this afternoon ahead of their match with Shelbourne on Monday evening but Trotter has been left behind as a precaution.

Boss Kenny Jackett told the South London Press last week that he would "not be taking anyone who cannot play in games", although fit-against Tamika Mkandawire, Therry Racon and Shaun Batt are believed to have travelled.

Youngsters Aiden O'Brien, Conor Wilkinson and Jack Sammoutis have also accompanied the first-team on the three-game tour.

However, captain Paul Robinson will remain at Millwall's Bromley training ground as he continues his rehabilitation from a double hernia operation.
