Holloway eyes first back-to-back Millwall wins since August

MILLWALL boss Ian Holloway is hoping his side can go on a winning run over the Christmas period, starting with three points against Bolton tonight.

The Lions go in search of back-to-back wins for the first time since August at The Den this evening, knowing that victory would propel them up to 14th in the table.

They then travel to Norwich City on Boxing Day before hosting table-topping Bournemouth on December 28.

So with the games coming thick and fast, now is the perfect time for Millwall to string some results together.

"If we can get two wins in a row, we'll be moving in the right direction," said Holloway.

"A little run of results can take you anywhere in this division – it's absolutely crazy."

Bolton, who are unbeaten in six under new gaffer Neil Lennon, are just above the Lions in the Championship table on goal difference

"Bolton is a fantastic game," added Holloway. "I can see all the work that Dougie Freedman did with them defensively.

"The new bloke has come in, he's used to winning, and I think he's given them a lot of belief in themselves. Now they're a big threat.

"Lee Chung-Yong is a fantastic player who can cause all sorts of issues and they've also got Eidur Gudjohnsen now – he's 36 but still a fantastic talent."

The Lions' last fixture in SE16 finished 5-1 to visitors Middlesbrough.

"I now know what we can and can't do, and what we can't do is anything like the formation we used against Middlesbrough," said Holloway.

"Bolton can end up in a 4-2-4 when they are attacking, which is similar to Boro, and Lennon has added a lot of confidence to them.

"It'll be a really good game. Hopefully we will produce a much better performance at home and that will lead to a much better result."

This week saw another Championship boss lose his job, with Nigel Adkins getting the chop at Reading.

Given the topsy-turvy nature of the division, Holloway says the impatience of some owners is ridiculous.

He said: "It seems that everyone down at the bottom is getting sacked. If that keeps on happening, managers will be losing their jobs all the time.

"It shows no belief or structure in any of these clubs."

Trust me Ollie back to back wins would make Christmas a lot better for everyone... We've lacked serious consistency and we need the Lads and the fans to put the fear back into the teams coming to the Den...
    Let's make it happen!

@brooker: Seriously, if Beevers is injured, that's the partnership I would choose.
