EX-Millwall trainee Conor Wilkinson has claimed that he left the club for "bigger and better things" at Bolton ahead of his return to The Den on Friday.
Wilkinson came through the Lions' academy ranks but turned down a professional deal to sign terms with Wanderers instead.
Last weekend, the 19-year-old made his Championship debut for Bolton in a 0-0 draw with Ipswich.
And speaking to the Bolton News about his first game back in SE16, the young striker said: "It [leaving] wasn't a difficult decision because Bolton are a much bigger club.
"Physically I was going to get better here and mentally I'll learn a lot more from the players here. It was a big step up – this is really a Premiership club.
"I need to be mentally focused for it, as best I can. The fans there are reckless. If they come for you, they'll come for you.
"I hope I'll be okay. My family will be there and they'll help carry me through it. I need to show Millwall why I left – bigger and better things."
