DAVID Forde is confident Millwall have enough character to bounce back from Saturday's 5-1 loss to Middlesbrough.
The Lions head to the south coast on Friday night for a televised clash with fellow strugglers Brighton, needing a win to get their season back on track.
And Forde said: "We were all bitterly disappointed after the Boro game and maybe one or two harsh words were said because that wasn't a Millwall performance in the first half.
"But I've experienced that sort of thing before, when we suffered heavy home defeats to Watford and Birmingham under Kenny.
"On those occasions we knuckled down and bounced back, and with the character in this squad I fully expect us to do the same again."
Speaking to the club's official site, the goalkeeper added: "We have the opportunity to put the memories of Middlesbrough firmly behind us by going to Brighton on Friday in front of the Sky cameras and showing what we're really capable of.
"We were unlucky not to win down there last season, and I still haven't been on the winning side at their new stadium, so this would be the perfect time to rectify that."
