i've been so prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, this is just too frequent now, just pick a settled team and let them play, i read last week there was no need to change the line up for this game so what did he do??? changes formation completely new with different players in this different formation.

I'm going to bore you all with this.
I like Holloway as a character and have admired what he has done with Blackpool and the Nigels, when he came to the club I thought (as many did) it was a breath of fresh air and that we'd managed the signing of the season by getting him, it took awhile to get results but we ended the season strong and stayed up, decent behind the scenes work done on training ground and preparation for this season, Leeds at home brilliant start Fulham away, its gonna be a good season I can feel it.
A vision of building something great from bottom up using youth and experience, if you don't give 100% or show the right attitude there is the door.

I am now disillusioned, where are we going? what are we doing? is that me or the players asking those questions?
Do we stick with it for the long haul, "THE VISION" ?
    Do we panic and sack?
Must we be content on fighting for survival changing formations and personnel every game this season?
If we stay up and the out of contracts leave and Ollie builds his own team in its entirety, how long does he get to get it right?

Too many questions not enough answers, all I know is we MUST stay in this division.
Write this game off, dust ourselves off and go again next week.
    COME ON YOU LIONS.

A lot of f***** idiots on here who I doubt even bothered to go today, I'm on my way home and that was f****** awful we will probably get beat 5 or 6 but do f*** off with your "sack him" and "f*** off Ollie" cos your talking out your a***, we won't find a replacement and comments like that just prove the type of supporter you get on this pathetic website that attracts a bunch of divvy studenty types who don't know f*** all about Millwall or our history.

@82wall: Sack the manager is just a knee jerk reaction when its all looking crap, in the cold light of day you would probably reassess the situation. "Sack Him he is clueless" is how i feel right now, in reality getting rid will probably make it worse, personally i'd like Ollie to get it right and give us a structure and a goal and vision, but can we afford to go down if it goes wrong this season?

@82wall: I'm just disillusioned at the. I think the players we have can do the job, the manager knows how to get teams promoted, this constant tinkering is frustrating everyone. Unfortunately we can't all agree with what we want. You say don't sack him and I agree, then someone says keep him and I also agree, I've never seen a manager with such a split decision, I'm split on my own. I think 1 thing all would agree on is stability and the need to stay up

Boro could realistically have wont his game 8-0 today, what a spineless performance from the players and Ollie should really have worked out if the team was ready to play 3-5-2 before sending them out on the pitch. Its a risky formation and I said many times before that a good team will take advantage of it. You can't set out to play that way for a whole game.

In fairness most fans demanded the change of formation that we used today, guess this shows way he was reluctant to use it... Only bonus is majority of team around us dropped points?!

I can't join the Holloway in or out debate because I never wanted him in the first place. Massively overrated manager whose reputaton is built on two play-off promotions at least one of which he can't claim much credit for. We are stuck with him so get used to it.

Well if you never wanted him and you're not happy with what he's doing I think that puts you in the Holloway out group 😉

Today's loss was predictable and it might turn out to be a good thing! We've had too many results against good teams, wolves Bournemouth etc which I think gave ollie a false sense of security, so he continued to tinker with the formation. Today's result could be a slap that brings him down to earth and forces him to go back to basics. I.e 4-4-2. we have some decent players but frankly other or most teams in the division are better. It's not like we haven't been here before but I don't think we will go down. Next season will be ollies real test so let's stay positive

@Geoff the lion: from all the fans i've spoke to it is that simple, play 4-4-2 and keep the team as settled as possible, the players arent terrible and they can do a job and achieve mid-table to 10th, show commitment to the team, work hard, and if you do lose you lose giving it your all.

@brooker: we think alike brooker. We are all gutted but it's only half way through the season and no one honestly expected promotion. Ollie has treated this as his pet project and it's biting him on the ass. Hopefully now he'll stop playing around

IF Ollie stuck to a 442 and stopped changing the team and playing players here there and everywhere I'm certain we would be picking up more points.

I'd certainly be blaming the players for the results more than the manager if he did keep it simple but unfortunately his 'tactics' effectively cost us 2-3 goals on average per game before we seem to find our feet.

On a positive note, somehow, we are not in the drop zone.

Let's face it and be realistic, that hammering has been coming.
Willy Wonka needs to stay, but he has got to get the team and formation back to basics
and get some kind of tactical stability. Forget your Footballing "Vision" for the moment
and ditch the stubborn attitude. The players look like they don't know if they are coming or going.
Oh well onwards and upwards. But f*** me, it's getting tedious now.

for those saying give him time

we should have been 4 nil down at half time last week, but got lucky - this is not a one-off -- 3-0 wolves (just lucky they are s*** also)

this cannot continue - why can't we start with webster dunne wilko and Malone as the back four (or whoever he thinks the best players are and do that every week

that formation today was utterly stupid - but it has been utterly stupid many times this season - soon he will lose the dressing room because he is making them look like bad players - then we are finished

we competed with Charlton the other day and they can keep grinding results out just because they stick to their way of playing - they are not better than us - Holloway is getting the worst out of our players - if he can't see that Shittu cannot play at championship level then I am very worried - you might as well play a kid at CB if that is what we have to resort to - there are no excuses for Holloway

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO MAKE ANY FOR HIM

Ok let's put this into perspective, we all won't our team our Millwall to do well, let's top the arguing between us & look at these facts, holloway & bircham have a far worse record than lomas had, lomas was sacked, at work if you don't do your job right you are basically given 3 warnings than you are out, we can't sack the players although that would be a good idea sometimes, so I feel that holloway & birch am have had more than 3 written warnings ie 1 win in 16 games, like it or not we must stay in this division, & unfortunately our manager & his assistant can't keep the same formation every week shows they are not clued up on footballing tactics & should now be removed from employment from our beloved Football club who we the supporters me included pay our hard earned cash too.

Terrible defending cost today - Webster being responsible for at least 2 of Boro's goals - got muscled off the ball so so easily and his movement and positioning was shocking. Obviously 1 man alone can't be blamed for a loss like that, but he was shocking and Holloway was equally at fault for not seeing the problem and dealing with it sooner... Loads of us screaming get him off, everybody can see it - yet Ollie keeps him on for the whole half and by then we're 0-4 down.. GAME OVER.
Ollie's got a bit of a name for being ruthless with subs, more so last season, and if there was ever a time to be ruthless is was with Webster after the 2nd goal...
Wilkinson is not a RWB, he's a straight forward RB = with no wingers being played, it's a huge ask to expect Malone and Wilko to give us the width we need going forward plus getting back to help the defense against a team like Boro who are flying...
Dunne and Webster are not experienced enough in the CB positions to be played together IMO - need to have some experience beside either of them if they play - in either Shittu or Beevers...

@boblion: you had to p*** on my (fish and) chips Bob haha, you're right the situation worsens.@timchimes: I was very disappointed in Webster today, but I have been calling for him and Beevers to have a run together and still stand by that. He has to up his game though. Shittu is not the answer, make him a coach a be done with it, he offers leadership but not performance any more

@glyngo: @timchimes - Shittu isn't the long term solution for sure - it's possible he could retire at the end of this season or the next.... BUT he wouldn't have got muscled off the ball like Webster did, and Shittu's strong point is his experience in his positioning. I doubt we'd have been 4 goals down by half time if Shittu had started IMHO.
On a different note, with regards to Fuller (another short term solution) it's frustrating that Ollie hasn't used him as a super sub. My preference would be to start Gregory and Easter/Gueye = 2 upfront.. then bring Fuller on for the last 20-30mins.. It's great that the fella can still last for 90mins but I fear that we might end up working him into the ground(injury) if we start relying on him to play 90mins every game.. I think he's (IH) tried every other combination apart from this... be it STARTING him as a pairing up front... or bringing him on into a pairing upfront AFTER starting with a 1 up front... by that point being several goals behind!!
In line with these 2 issues it's quite worrying to think of the caliber of players NEEDED in key positions to replace who we have now..
1, maybe 2 formidable CB's (Robbo leaving, Shittu to soon retire..) and 1, 'IDEALLY' 2 strikers (Easter and more so Fuller not being long term solutions)... Add to this the fact that we played with zero wingers yesterday because our 1 proper winger wasn't fit = 2, 'IDEALLY' 3 wingers! Pie in the sky I know, but EVERY team needs the winger option and at least 1 replacement for injuries...
Worrying but exciting at the same time - freeing up a load of dosh when we clear out the dross and seeing who we get in... This being the situation, I still have time for Ollie in light of our squad and financial situation... Brentford for example spent 5million on their forward line - that's what we're up against....
          Sorry for the essay..
          COYL.
