FRED Onyedinma has joined League Two table-toppers Wycombe until January.

Onyedinma, who turned 18 this week, has never been out on loan before.

But manager Ian Holloway has been eager to get the young midfielder more experience and a short-term stint at Adam Park fits the bill.

He could make his debut against Hartlepool this weekend.

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth said: "Fred caught the eye when we played Millwall earlier in the season and I'm really pleased to bring him to the club.

"He's a very lively attacker who can play either on the wing or down the middle, and he's got plenty of pace, enthusiasm and strength which can help the team.

"I'm grateful to Ian Holloway and Marc Bircham at Millwall for allowing Fred to join us.

"I hope we can play a significant role in the development of another talented young player."

Why wont he bring these youngsters through the first team, division 2 football is not the answer give him an extended run in the first team along side Gregory to see what he can do.

It's great isn't it, we loan out exciting young skilful players and what do we get, if we are really lucky someone who is semi fit and can last 45mins or someone who takes most of his loan period to get fit enough for the bench. Play the kids these old losers are bleeding us dry.

And as a reward he can play in league 2 because we prefer to sign and field unfit players who are past thier best and have a goal return more dodgy than my tax return. Once again, great bit of business for the club.

@Syd the Lion: don't get too confident Syd. He's probably making way for another middle aged midfielder who will be paid fortunes for being injured and bringing nothing to the team.

Better than staying here if he's not going to get any game time.

Though personally he would be making the squad if I had any say.

Good luck Fred! Very promising young player. Based on his few performances in the first team I don't think he's quite ready for the championship yet, but he will definitely get there. Regular competitive football is what he needs, and all being well he'll come back ready to set the championship on fire for us next season. Good move.

Can't say I'm a fan of Ainsworth as a person, but he will certainly toughen Fred up. will be interesting to see how he adapts to that side.
