Ranegie to spend remainder of Millwall loan back at Watford

MILLWALL loanee Mathias Ranegie has returned to Watford.

The Swedish striker was not included in the Lions' squad at Charlton on Saturday and it is understood he is now back with the Hornets.

Ranegie was due to remain at The Den until January.

The Lions will still have to pay their share of the 30-year-old's wages until the New Year but it has been agreed that he can train with his parent club until then.

The former Udinese frontman failed to score in seven appearances for Ian Holloway's side.

So we send him back and still have to pay for him.

    You couldn't make it up.

Will go down in the history books as one of the worst signings ever made alongside Rob Hulse. Wage thief.

This almost makes the Hoyte signing look good in comparison.

Well AMBLER is chief exec so he has to look at himself and the way he goes about doing business . Maybe berylson needs to have a real good look at this bloke. It sounds to me like ranagie has got the hump and shown it for not getting on yesterday so Ollie's told him to f*** off, fair play to him if that is the case.

As shockingly bad as it is that we sign a player on loan and then have to pay to give him back to his parent club I can't say that I agree with those that blame Ambler for this one (don't get me wrong I am not an Ambler fan). Holloway must have liked him and thought he was better than what we had. It seems to me that Holloway's judgement is to be questioned on the players he signs on loan...it is almost as if he is saying 'well it is not my money so I will take a punt'. It is no good saying ...get me him until Jan he is just what we need... and then when it turns out a one legged granny with Parkinson's could do better sending him back with pay.

Holloway keeps doing odd things and people let him get away with it. Look at our record under him. Shocking on all fronts. Yes we play slightly better football but we have only won what is it now.....1 in 12. Anyone else would be way out the door by now.

So Ambler is not the best we could hope for but don't pin this one on him....he will give us plenty of things to moan about later I am sure so keep your powder dry!

Maybe now o'brien might get a game. But it was finally nice to see Webster & beevers play alongside each other big plus. Now keep them there.

@block 28: so Ranegie getting the hump is Amblers fault ????? It's Holloways fault 100%, Ambler doesn't pick the team or train them. Holloway is cocking up big time.

This signing always wreaked of desperation after missing out on Matt smith and Zamora. I just feel like we need to do a little more homework on players to see if they can fit into our system.
I personally would enquire about benik afobe, seems to be doing well at MK Dons, and looked good before he got injured here.
Can't wait for the clear out in the summer, hopefully then we an start challenging for the signing of players, with out all our budget being tied up in wages.
At least Ollie has seen that ranegie is not working and is looking to change things. This year was always going to be a transition period, and I hope next year we will see a team that plays in ollies style.

@glenbur: I thought the same - why did we not try and get Afobe back. Genuine pace, can play down the middle or out wide. What we are crying out for. I don't know the terms of his loan but I for one would be happy to see him back instead of some has been or in Ranegie's case, a never was!

Another of Ollie's cock-ups and wasting money - is it me or can he not speak plain English?
See the Related Article at top of page- Ollie: New signing Ranegie is exactly what Millwall need.

Instead of trying to con us with saying that we have signed a wonderful, gifted striker (that means he is well passed his best), why not invest in the future Ollie? Buy (not loan) another young strike to pair with Gregory such as Eoin Doyle of Chesterfield and have a 4-4-2.

Invest for the future, not patch-up now!

Not hard to see why we lost £ 9 million last season with deals like this !!!!
A useless 30 year old lump on loan, that scores bugger all, goes back and we continue to pay his inflated wages.
    TOTAL MISMANGEMENT.

Why don't we pay a few more players wages at other clubs as well to help them out. Honestly the way this club is run in a business sense is a complete shambles.

It surprises me that so many people are surprised. Anyway thankfully Olly has finally seen what I and no doubt every one else saw, he's awful and not good enough to play in the Lions shirt. Hopefully he'll start to off load some of the other players who fall into that category and start to use some of the talented youth we've got who want to give their lives for our colours. COYL.

Lots of negativity towards either IH or AA, I say spread the blame, the way I see is IH tells the board who he wants, goes after them, Ambler turns up and then negotiates the contract, lets share it, Holloway for even considering players and Ambler for agreeing silly contracts.
If Ollie tells Ambler it is the right player and we need him, give him a good deal cause we must sign him, then surely that is ollies fault and not Ambler.
If contracts are all ambler then blame him.

There must be more to this story than meets the eye. Contractually , we agreed to pay a percentage of his wages for
    Loan period.
Why Ollies sent him back , I've no idea.

Think you lot are being a bit harsh if Forde was player of the season last year then surely this means Ranegie is in with a chance this season , we need to have a good look at the way our club is run its just absolutely awful business I know you cant predict injuries but we just seem to attract them or buy and loan lightweights in the last couple of seasons , Baily, Chaplow, reggie , Shittu , kevin Ocallaghan

we are idiots. look at the facts. We get crap loanies in. we allow people to train with us offer them a contract then they f@&k off we have end of playing career players who just want one final payment, we got excellent young talent lok e fred, powell and o brian and leave them out after a couple of games but then allow knackered old players like chaplow, bailey, fuller to get ahead of them in the pecking order. a draw at a guarantee 3 pointer like charlton but everything is good. i am missing something. we wont survive on draws

If he returns from loan and we continue to pay his wages I would imagine that injuries and fitness are the reason and no one can predict that and those are std terms for a loan. But if not then it's a complete balls up. I reserve my judgement till the facts come to light.

Seems to me it was olly who told him to jog on..he was dropped from the squad on saturday..we can only guess what occured cos as fans we are not important enough to share information with..it looks like mfc by sending him back broke the deal between the two clubs.if this is true they have to pay..as for keeping him here that would be wrong..cos it would only unsettle other players...

@Jim28: hard to say, if the guy couldn't get over that injury he had and was being a negative influence around the club, probably best he goes back. You do have to criticize the club for signing him if his temperament was that bad though, they have to know what type of person they are bringing in. As a fan I don't expect to know all the gory details of the club machinations though, what business shares every staffing issue with all the employees, that would be very unprofessional.
