Bircham hit with FA charge as Millwall boss is given warning

MARC Bircham has been charged with improper conduct by the FA.

Millwall’s assistant boss was sent to the stands after a row broke out on the touchline during Tuesday's draw with Blackburn.

Bircham became involved in a dispute with Rovers coach Craig Short, who was also removed from the dugout and has been hit with the same charge.

But Lions manager Ian Holloway has escaped punishment after he too was dismissed. He has instead been "formally reminded of his responsibilities" by Wembley chiefs.

Bircham has until 6pm on November 10 to respond.

Questions we should be asking the FA:
Why was Marc Bircham sent to the stands? Because you provided us with a match official who couldn't 'run a bath', let alone referee a Championship football game.
Also, what punishment is being giving the Blackburn management team as they took part in the row?

The sending off was nothing short of a disgrace. We should be getting a formal apology from the referee and the FA.

I think J.B needs to remind the FA of there moral responsibilities in providing Match officials who are up to the standard we expect of them.

I think everyone will agree the standard of refs at Millwall and the games on tv are poor. But if you say that on an interview after the games you get slapped with a heavy fine. It's about time the FA published the Refs assessor report on the refs performance then something may be done about improving their standards. Take off the rose tinted glasses FA and do something about it. Refereeing is not as rosy as you think. Why can't refs be interviewed after a game?

Why can't refs be interviewed after a game? Because they need to watch pop star Ed Sheeran in concert!

@CavanLion: Yeah all them po** refs helped me lose my job last December, thats what they never think about, there decision good or bad can effect peoples lives and livleyhoods and they make supporters upset all the following week when they get it so wrong.

@glyngo: Thanks Glyngo had a lot of time on my hands since last Boxing day but trying to keep busy, I do follow the Wall and what Ollie is doing which to be fair is not much better than my record, although I am sure he will keep you up and it a higher position than last year.
That sending off was never one but thats what happens down the den, I am sure that Refs are instructed to give the away team any 50/50 decisions, becuse they both went for the ball studs down and they were both commited to the tackle, but that's Ref's at Millwall for you.
