MILLWALL have splashed out on a high-tech ice bath to help their players reduce fatigue after matches and training sessions.
The CET CryoSpa, a hydrotherapy machine which is sold by a company in Northern Ireland, was installed at the Lions' Bromley training base this morning.
It will help Ian Holloway's players recover faster after gruelling sessions and energy-sapping games. It should also help prevent muscle injuries.
The same equipment is being used by Manchester City and AC Milan, as well as British Olympic atheletes.
The CryoSpa, which was funded by director Trevor Keyse, has over 40 water jets and can be used by up to three players at a time.
Physio Bobby Bacic said: "These machines work on the same principle as an ice bath but they are more regulated.
"We can control the temperature and the depth makes it more efficient. They are proven to reduce fatigue.
"We had to take the doors off to get it into the building!"
