MANAGER Kenny Jackett says he wants Millwall to be fitter than any other side in the Championship this season.
The Lions' pre-season got underway last Friday, with the squad currently based at an army-style bootcamp in the West Country undergoing an intensive fitness programme.
And Jackett believes building up his players' stamina and endurance will be key to a succesful campaign.
"We're going to have ten days of fitness work because I want us to be the fittest side in the Championship," he told the club's official site.
"It's an unusual summer because we have the best part of two months before our first game. We have to build up our base fitness and I have to make sure everybody's up to speed.
"We will move onto the football side from July 2 by which time we hope to have a good level of fitness and a minimum number of injuries."
