SACKED Millwall coach Richard Shaw is reportedly set to be named the new assistant manager of Coventry City.

The 43-year-old will become Andy Thorn's number two at the Ricoh Arena following talks over the weekend, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

The Lions last week confirmed Shaw had parted company with the club, two months after it first emerged he had been dismissed from his role as first team coach.

Shaw, who made 317 appearances for the Sky Blues during his playing career, knows Thorn from their time together at Crystal Palace during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
