RICARDO Fuller believes he is approaching full fitness after starting the season a "month behind" the rest of the Millwall squad.
The Jamaican capped his best Lions performance to date with his first goal for the club in a 3-2 defeat to Reading on Tuesday.
And Fuller feels he has now caught up on his match sharpness and is confident of getting on the scoresheet more regularly in the weeks ahead.
He said: "I scored a goal and as a striker that's what you're there to do, as well as linking the play and winning headers, and in general it was a good performance by the team.
"Personally I was happy with my performance. I've played well in a few games, especially against Fulham, but I hadn't been able to score.
"My fitness is getting better and I'm very happy about that. As you could see on Tuesday, I showed that with each game I'm getting better and better because my fitness is improving.
"I said before the season that I was behind by about a month, so it's only natural that, after seven games, I've found the back of the net.
"For any players who's behind on their fitness, it's only natural to start the season slowly. I will give my best no matter how fit I am but now I've got my first goal and I feel good.
"My sharpness is up there, my running is better and my heading is better – everything is getting better."
