JERMAINE Pennant has played down the possibility of him joining Millwall, stating on Twitter that he is training with the club "simply to get fit".
The former Liverpool and Stoke City winger linked up with the Lions yesterday.
But responding to reports that he could now sign a contract at The Den, Pennant tweeted: "I'm just simply training not on trial just training to keep fit. So you can print this if you like media."
In a reply to a Lions fan, the midfielder described Ian Holloway as a "top man" and "funny as hell".
Pennant's representatives have confirmed that the tweets are genuine.
