MILLWALL captain Paul Robinson has undergone successful surgery on a double hernia.

The 30-year-old had been playing through the pain barrier at the back-end of last season and finally went under the knife to rectify the issue last Thursday.

Physio Bobby Bacic told the club's official site: "We decided to hold Robbo's surgery date back as we wanted to wait for the most suitable surgeon to be available.

"The surgery itself took an hour and repairs were made to the areas of damage we had identified; it was a routine operation with no unforseen problems presenting."
