Warren dismisses Millwall link to crowd trouble at Haye fight

BOXING promoter Frank Warren has quashed suggestions there could be crowd trouble between Millwall and West Ham fans at the heavyweight fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora next month.

Haye, a Bermondsey-born Lions supporter, will take to the ring at the Hammers' Upton Park home on July 14 in a bout that is already shrouded in controversy.

But Warren has blasted suggestions that there could be football-related trouble in the stands.

"It is nonsense and mischievous to suggest that," he told The Telegraph. "What football fans has Dereck Chisora got ? He supports Manchester United.

"When has a Haye fight had problems with Millwall supporters? With every promotion, we have meetings with the police and a security company, and our event management.

"There has been nothing different from every big show we have been involved in."

Except this fight is at Upton Park with a West Ham fan on the undercard. Not rocket science that this has potential.
