IAN Holloway has revealed that club captain Paul Robinson is among the senior players left out of Millwall's pre-season training camp in Portugal.
Holloway confirmed last week that David Forde, Carlos Edwards and David Forde would not travel to the Algarve and it has now emerged that Robinson has also stayed at home.
The Lions have taken eight youngsters to the Cascade Resort.
Speaking to the club's official site, Holloway explained his decision to leave behind four of the most experienced members of his squad.
He said: "I know all about them, they are our four most senior players, and what I want to do at this stage is find out more about some of our youngsters."
Holloway added: "The first sessions started at 7.25am this morning and the third one will start at 4pm this afternoon.
"Then after we've eaten we will be sitting down together to do some video analysis and talk about how we're going to play this season.
"That will be the pattern every day except Thursday when they'll get a day off.
"As the week progresses, their rest time between repetitions will decrease to the point where they will only rest for the same period as they have just worked.
"They will be doing plenty of ball work including sessions where, for example, there are 12 players working with four balls which is geared up to getting them to think quicker too."
