MILLWALL have completed the signing of Yeovil Town defender Byron Webster.

The 27-year-old defender turned down a new deal with Glovers at the end of last season and joins the Lions on a two-year contract from July 1.

Webster made 45 appearances and scored http://www.massagemetro.com/shop/viagra/ four goals during the 2013-14 campaign but could not save his side from an immediate return to League One.

The ex-Northampton and Doncaster man will meet his new team-mates on Thursday when the Lions return for pre-season training, along with former Yeovil team-mate Ed Upson.

        @Windy:

Last year, Lomas was grabbing at 'has beens' and anyone on the market (with a few honourable exceptions). It was never a cohesive team.

This year Ollie is getting pieces for a jigsaw - a few pieces still needed but this is a long way away from the start of 2013/14.

Some newbies won't make it - some will. But I suspect this will be a far better 'hit rate' than last year.

I predict that in 3 - 4 months time we may be pleasantly surprised by 1 or 2 signings from last year who've finally woken up to Ollie's world. But others will fall by the wayside.

I am cautiously optimistic about enjoying a better season (although it can be 'the hope that kills you').

Ollie is certainly doing the right thing in my view.

I never thought that of Lomas.

@glyngo: Not sure Danny will be fit any time soon. An achilles tear is a big one for a player of his size. Love to see him back, but we now have another option who can pass better and has pace and height.
Robbo is just past it at this level, unfortunately, so I can't see him realistically challenging Webster for a place.

@junkmale: Can't remember if it was an article on here, or in the SLP - but it said that Shittu only missed the last game of the season by a couple of days in fitness terms/injury recovery time... So unless he's been stuffing his face over the summer - he should be back fit. Time will tell... Robbo will no doubt have been putting the work in, so we'll see... Good to see some competition for places as well... COYL.

@Luke ColdBlow10: I reckon he probably has been stuffing his face. World Cup on and a couple of months off.

Hopefully not as he was looking like is old self under Ollie and with him now in the last year of his contract he needs to be match fit and ready to go. Playing for his future, though most likely somewhere else after this season.

A fit danny s*** could be a huge bonus couldn't he ? If he,s up for it and the minds tuned he could be another part of the jigsaw? Yes? No? Been eating too many cookies 2nite? Someone closer to the action please give an opinion!

@grassgrower: Shittu needs to shed 15 kilos and then get fit, he might then be able to carry on playing at Chamionship level and still be as good as he was in his first season. He just looks like he is carrying too much bulk at this current time.

@glyngo: thanks , it,l be a shame if he can't really have a crack in my opinion, just seems like an opportunity for a rebirth of sorts. A good blend of different types and ages led by a genuine leader in Ollie! It seems a really exciting time coming and no reason for everyone to not give it 110%

Ho, ho, ho, very funny & it's not Xmas yet for those crackers. It's all about opinion & I think Easter can add something to our forward line with his pace, guile & experience. I doubt he'll get many games and will come on as sub a lot but we could do worse.

Ah, I see. I'm not sure IH will play 4-4-2 with wingers but rather 5-3-2 with Edwards & Malone as wing-backs. Do we have any wingers at the club right now having waved goodbye to Feeney as well as Henry? Woolford was a winger when originally signed but not sure where he'll fit in now. It's going to an interesting season regardless of formations, players etc. Just hope we don't use 40+ players, that's all.

@Bolland: guys, take a look at IHs interview on lions player from the 18th, he states he's been in talks with 2/3 players, he's looking for another forward in the mould of morison and the hoff to compliment gregory as he wont be used in that role. He wants another wide man and is looking at a utility player who can cover 3 or 4 positions to cover injuries.
he wants fred, goodman and a couple others to fill positions instead of bringing too many new signings into the squad as he wants a tight nit, millwall kind of aquad to work with.

@Bolland: lukesmithmfc, just watched the interviews - Ollie's making all the right noises! Very encouraging to hear that most of the ideas he has - mirror the thoughts of the majority of our fans. Strengthening the squad in the right areas with the right sort of players - and also bringing in several of our youth players to play their part... Good work Ollie, ROLL ON AUGUST!!!

Wish him well but I can't help feeling we are shopping in the bargain basement. Two from Yeovil, one from MKD, Halifax, Ipswich reserves. Is this how to get to the top end of the Championship? When Ollie was at Blackpool he paid half-a-million for Charlie Adams who was instrumental in getting them promoted. We are a long way short of that sort of signing.

@Glasshalffull: Hi Glasshalfempty, of course we are shopping in the bargain basement, no money, small crowds, too many crap players in the squad, we have to play in that arena. It doesn't make these players poor, but hopefully value for the little money we have. Webster was out of contract, as was Edwards, but anyone who saw him play would welcome him to the squad. No idea about Gregory, but hopefully IH doesn't get too many things wrong. Believe.

Interesting story heard today. Apparently a foreign national residing in the south east, asked numerous professional football clubs if they could provide any old or unwanted shirts and shorts , to kit out a boys football team in Malawi. Only 3 clubs acknowledged the request. Two said they give their kit to local boys clubs and one filled up a massive kitbag with shirts, shorts, socks and footballs. One guess who that team was. I would lay a pound to a pinch that doesn't appear on the back pages of the tabloids.

Quote from recently dec'd Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll. " Before you can win a game, you have to not lose it" I think our defence is now looking capable of 'not losing' the rest will come with Gregory and the right support. (On and off the field!)
